Support Childrens Dental Health Month
Wednesday, February 9th 2011
Every child deserves a healthy start in life, but when it comes to oral health, many children face significant challenges. According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD):
- 40% - 50% of children will be affected by tooth decay before age 5
- Of the 4 million children born each year, more than half will have cavities by the time they reach second grade
- More than 23 million children do not have dental insurance
- Oral health issues affect children in poverty and minorities far more than other groups
Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children is a foundation established in 1987 by the AAPD to support and promote education, research, service, and policy development to advance the oral health of infants and children, including those with special health care needs.
In recognition of the importance of oral health and National Children's Dental Health Month, Water Pik, Inc. will donate $1 to Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children for each "Like" on our Facebook page, up to $5,000.
Take a moment to "Like" Water Pik―support the future of children's oral healthcare and add to our donation!.
