Waterpik® Teams Up With America's ToothFairy Foundation For "Kids Teach Me How To Floss" Campaign
Children Everywhere Could Win A Waterpik® Water Flosser By Submitting Their Best
"Teach Me How To Floss" Photo, Video, Or Drawing On Twitter or Instagram
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (March 4, 2015)
– In an effort to reach the more than 25 million children in the U.S. who suffer from tooth decay,
Waterpik® and America’s ToothFairy: National Children’s Oral Health Foundation created a fun
"Kids Teach Me How To Floss" contest for 6 to 12 year olds. All creative
"Teach Me How To Floss" photo, video, or drawing concepts were submitted on
Twitter or Instagram.
Each entry was required to mention @Waterpik and include the hashtag #TeachMeHowToFloss in the
comments section. Photos and drawings could also be uploaded directly to the contest
Suzanne Carranza, Senior Marketing Manager, Waterpik® Consumer Oral Health, said,
“We are delighted to be partnering with America’s ToothFairy Foundation because it is so important to teach children
the facts about good oral health. Many of our children today are in terrible pain and have difficulty eating, sleeping,
speaking and concentrating in school."
Fern Ingber, President & CEO of America's ToothFairy: National Children's Oral Health Foundation, added,
"More than 40 percent of all children have dental cavities by the time they reach kindergarten and more than 27 percent of
children have an acute oral health need. Pediatric dental disease is nearly 100% preventable, but greater awareness is
needed to break the cycle of this disease and rescue children from needless pain and suffering. Dental disease can have
serious consequences for children’s health including malnourishment, life-threatening infections, anemia, emergency surgery, and even death."
Waterpik® and America’s ToothFairy want to reach children everywhere to help them understand that they can achieve
good oral health with simple, healthy habits. To help foster good oral health, nearly 50 Waterpik® Water Flossers for Kids
were given away, one to each of the best entries. All qualifying entries received a $5 rebate on the purchase
of a Waterpik® Water Flosser For Kids!
The Waterpik® Water Flosser For Kids is a custom model made for children ages 6 to 12 years of age, featuring a
compact, simplified design that makes water flossing easy, even for small children. It's perfect for kids who
wear braces or have trouble flossing, and fun to use every day. Twenty (20) removable cling decals let kids
personalize their Water Flosser to their own tastes.
In support of National Children's Dental Health Month (February) and World Dental Health Month (March),
Waterpik® also provided two incentives to bring the Water Flosser For Kids to homes and families everywhere. In addition to $5.00 purchase rebate coupons, good through March 31, 2015, Waterpik® also
donated $5.00 to America’s ToothFairy: National Children’s Oral Health Foundation for each rebate redeemed.
