Why I Still Love Dental Hygiene

Why I Still Love Dental Hygiene

When I joined Water Pik, Inc. a little over 19 years ago, one of the things I was often asked was 'if I no longer liked hygiene.' Nothing could have been farther from the truth. I loved dental hygiene then, and I still love it today.  Why?  A couple of reasons.  One, whether I was chair side, or by your side providing continuing education, I know I'm playing a role in helping people live healthier lives. What could be better than that! Second, in my travels with Water Pik, Inc. and my involvement with ADHA, I've been fortunate to meet many dental hygienists from across the globe and to call many of you, friend. I love it when I'm at a tradeshow or CE course and someone says 'are you the Carol who sends the newsletter!"

I'm not the only one who loves dental hygienists. Water Pik loves you too!  Here are a couple of reasons why we think dental hygienists are the best.

Dental Hygienists are Educators

Dental Hygienists are Educators

Water Pik, Inc has over 100 awesome dental hygienists serving as independent professional educators. This talented and enthusiastic group provides lunch and learns on the Waterpik® Water Flosser  to dental practices in the US and Canada.

We know when dental hygienists are passionate about something, they want to share that message with patients and colleagues.  If you would like to host a lunch and learn in your office, click here.

Dental Hygienists are the Drivers of Water Flosser Recommendations

Dental Hygienists are the Drivers of Water Flosser Recommendations

Dental hygienists know that brushing alone is not enough.  Yet when it comes to string floss, a recent survey by the American Academy of Periodontology found that more than a third of adults would rather do an unpleasant activity like cleaning the toilet over string flossing.

Savvy dental hygienists know the best way to influence patients is by recommending a product that is both easy and effective. The Water Flosser only takes a minute a day, and is clinically proven up to 50% more effective at improving gum health than string floss.
